First aid kit - One for each of us and a medicine bag of spares

divide into small zip lock bags so you can easily identify what is what. Then put all into a waterproof roll over bag to carry. TIP: spend time to get to know what you have and how to use it so that you don't panic when the time comes!

Plasters and a Can of spray on plaster (great for cuts and grazes as it forms a waterproof seal on the cut which wears off over a few days.)

Alcohol Swabs - to clean and disinfect cut first. keep in sealed plastic bag as ours dried out during the travels even though they are sealed.

Adrenaline shot in syringe EPIPEN - AdrenalineAdrenaline is the favored treatment for anaphylactic shock, and should be administered immediately if a person begins exhibiting severe allergic reactions. Get to a doctor/hospital afterwards.

Take off the grey safety cap, grasp the EpiPen in a fist and press the black, rounded tip hard into the thigh. Hold the EpiPen in place while slowly counting to 10. The pen can inject right through clothing.

Adrenaline may be used following a heart attack, or to make the heart beat
if it has stopped.

Adrenaline is also used in the emergency treatment of severe allergic reactions to insect bites or stings, medicines, foods or other substances. It may also be given during acute asthma attacks for severe breathing difficulties.

The injection will usually be given just under the skin, however it can also be given into the muscle, or straight into the vein Adrenaline injection should not be given into the buttocks.

Children will be given a lower dose of Adrenaline depending on their weight.
